This type of faith enables a person to possess extraordinary confidence and assurance concerning the outcome or disposition of a specific event, issue or situation. Biblical References:
Gift Characteristics: Is a temporary condition in the believer... The gift of faith is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit that demonstrates His presence and power. It is not the product of any faith that resides in the individual. Like other charisma, it is a supernatural ability that remains under His control. This special faith is temporary in the believer that is focused on a specific issue or circumstance. Differs from other types of faith... The Bible talks about several different kinds of faith. While all of them have the same origin (God), they differ in their workings. The first type of faith relates to our salvation (Eph. 2:8). This faith enables us to recognize and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. It remains a permanent part of our spiritual life. Another type of faith mentioned in Scripture is the consequence of developed character and maturity (Rom. 1:5). This faith produces the fruit of sanctification within our lives. But it is conditional, being dependent on a close relationship with Him. The gift of faith mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12;9 is a special faith that comes from the Holy Spirit. This faith is given to us as a supernatural demonstration of God's power. Brings about physical healing... Special faith can be given to someone for the purpose of working a physical healing in them (Matt. 9:20-22; Luke 18:40-43). Helps us overcome adverse circumstances... Special faith can be given to someone in a difficult situation for the purpose of helping them to overcome it (Luke 8:22-25; Acts 27:25) Delivers people who are in extreme bondage to demons... Special faith can be given to someone for the purpose of empowering them in a deliverance situation (Matt. 17:14-21). Enables us to accomplish specific ministry goals... Special faith can be given to someone for the purpose of achieving certain objectives that God has given them (Mark 11:12-14 & 20-26).
